Highlights of 2002
- Ceilidh raises £///// for Distrsict Funds.
- Lots of fun at Dunolly House Aberfeldy
- An Edinburgh Venturer is chosen to go the Earth Summit at Johannesburg in September. She shall be representing the Woodcraft Folk in the UNESCO program 'Your Wake Up Call'
- The Original Venturers hike over the May day Holiday from Moffat to Innerleithen along the Southern Upland Way. After climbing Ettrick Pen(??m) they stayed at Phawhope Bothy and the camp site and at St Marys Loch. Overall they walked ?? mls and climbed .?? m.
- The Victoria holiday weekend saw ?? woodies from Edinburgh camping at Yair. Unfortunately it rained over the whole weekend, but this did not dampen the spirits of the Silver Swan Elfins who were experiencing camping for the first time!
- District BBQ was again held at Bonaly.
- There was an Edinburgh presence at the first Scottish Forum meeting to be held at New Lanark. The weather was kinder this time!
- Summer camp was held at Blairgowrie at ???? from ??? to ????. With the rest of the Scottish Woodcraft groups camp was enjoyed by all. Unfortunately it was swept by a tummy bug!
- The Original Venturers eventually travel to the Venturer Camp. and have a great time making friends with the Leicester Venturers.
- Despite missing all her connections our represenatative arrives safely back from Johannesburg. You can read all about her work on behalf of UNESCO and Woodcraft at the sust'n'able website
- The venturers go on a bike ride. All the way up the Great Glen! Autumnal weather in Scotland means snow, hail, sun, and wind they got it all, but still manged to do this taxing ride. A first for the Venturers!
